About Us
The Flower Farm was established in 1905 by J.H. Nixon and his family. The Nixons built what is now the main house of the Flower Farm Bed and Breakfast. They planted thirty acres of plums on the property. Over the years sheep and cattle grazed the land and this piece of land has been farmed ever since.
The Leonard family purchased the property in 1993 and established both the Bed and Breakfast and the Nursery. The delightful flower, Sweet Dreams Coreopsis, was discovered by Mark Leonard at the Flower Farm.
John & Annie Bowler, along with their children, purchased the Flower Farm in 2004. They renovated the farmhouse, added guest cottages & converted the barn into a facility for weddings and special events. Their longtime friends, Rich and Sheri Fischer and Patti Foust, developed the Flower Farm Nursery and Cafe into a fine destination. The Flower Farm is now home to six acres of mandarins, a half-acre of Malbec grapes, a variety of fruit trees, large vegetable gardens and a cutting flower bed.

Practices
We at the Flower Farm are committed to protecting the environment. Much of our electricity comes from solar panels, we practice environmentally friendly farming methods and we recycle and compost daily. Our kitchens use fruits, vegetables and eggs that we grow or nearby farms produce. Our Nursery was selected as a retailer for UC Davis Arboretum All-Stars, 100 tough, drought tolerant yet beautiful plants. We host yoga, gardening classes, including water-wise gardening and art classes, We offer educational farm and nursery tours for small groups.
