Tracey Stirling moved with her family from Southern CA to Grass Valley, CA in 2007. Tracey’s dream was to homeschool her two children while learning and implementing homesteading. She has always had a passion for animals and was particularly interested in grass fed and organic practices. She started with chickens, bees and a small herd of milking goats which eventually led to quail, turkey rabbits and pigs. In 2020 the Stirling family adopted their first small breed dairy cow Ellie Mae, along with her calf. In 2021 they processed the previous year’s calf and while researching ways to use all parts of the cow, Tracey discovered the ancient use of tallow for skincare. Intrigued she immediately began experimenting with skincare recipes and fell in love instantly. As she shared her discoveries with friends she received many requests to reproduce her creations and Lotus Rising Farm’s 100% grass fed skincare line was born. It became nearly an overnight success due to the unique properties of grass fed tallow. It has become Tracey’s joy, ever since, to produce a skincare line so natural that even babies can benefit from it, yet highly effective at aiding in the healing of numerous skin conditions.

Our ancestors knew the incredible benefits of tallow which is why it has been used for thousands of years as an ancient skincare remedy. Beef tallow is a shelf stable product made from the rendered fat of cows. It is almost identical to the sebum that our own skin produces for moisturizing, making it biologically compatible to absorb deeply and promote healing on a cellular level. It is this similarity to our skin’s own oils that help it to replenish the nutrients that our skin loses as we age and because it is 100% grass fed it is especially nutrient dense.

Tallow is antibacterial, antimicrobial and non comedogenic making it an excellent remedy for acne without clogging the pores. It is highly effective as an anti-aging preventative and can aid in the healing of eczema, acne, psoriasis, stretch marks, burns, poison oak itch, insect bites and stings, and rashes of all kinds. It helps to make the skin more sun tolerant and can aid in the healing of the perineum after birth and is an excellent remedy for sore cracked nipples from nursing as well as for diaper rash, cradle cap and much more. Being that our skin is our largest organ I only want to use skincare products on myself and my family that are all natural. All of my products are dye free, chemical free, hypoallergenic and contain only simple natural ingredients gentle enough to us on babies with amazing results for a myriad of conditions.

My tallow products are designed to be healing, restorative and deeply moisturizing leaving a long lasting softness for up to 24 hours. Because my balms and butters are very concentrated only a small amount is needed!

Tracey’s passion is raising animals humanely with love and kindness while producing clean organic nutrient dense food. The tallow used for her skincare is sourced from 100% grass fed cows and organic when possible. Being that our skin is our largest organ Tracey believes that we should strive to only apply natural clean ingredients on our skin. She is dedicated to using ingredients that she would only use on herself and her family. Because 100% grass fed tallow is a nutrient dense superfood, she believes we can enhance the health of our bodies through applying grass fed tallow to our skin.
